The Blacklist Season 6 will introduce a shocking new twist in the Red Reddington (James Spader) saga: the feds get him, and they’re gonna try to bring him to justice for his many crimes.
In the trailer, first shared by Entertainment Weekly, the impostor Raymond Reddington has been apprehended after his 30-year crime spree that put him at the top of the most wanted list. And now, in a twist that will come early in Season 6, he’s caught and the task force can’t help him. It looks like Red’s gonna have a hard time getting a fair trial, because the judge on his case (Becky Ann Baker) thinks he’s “the Devil himself.” The prosecution is even seeking capital punishment!
Red’s going to turn to Liz (Megan Boone) for help finding who snitched on him, but he doesn’t know that she knows that he’s not really her father. Was it her???
“I have a feeling it’s going to be a very good year,” Red says at one point, and we agree.
The Blacklist will return with a two-part premiere on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 10/9c and Friday, Jan. 4, at 9/8c, the latter of which is the show’s new regular timeslot.
